For over 30 years, ODZ Consultants, part of the Egis Group, has developed knowledge and analysis of the physical and chemical mechanisms related to the consequences of accidental situations. Early on, engineers specialized in this type of modeling within the firm, with the goal of mastering the bibliographic context and numerical simulation methodologies. Our expert teams conduct modeling of fire, explosion, toxic release phenomena, and the critical analysis of their consequences using software such as Phast, Flumilog, and FDS.
Today, our modeling unit continues to provide the necessary elements for hazard studies and actively maintains technological vigilance in partnership with research projects. As an example, ODZ Consultants participates in the CFD Explosion Working Group, led by the National Institute for Industrial Environment and Risks (INERIS).
The utility of CFD modeling for industry is substantial. CFD approach precisely estimates the residual overpressure achieved for different concentration levels and complex configurations, thus optimizing the design of vents protecting areas where the risk of hydrogen explosion is present.
