Rental - Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell 6x2

So far, high investment costs for the vehicles and the associated residual value risk, technology uncertainty, and limited experience with alternative drives have hindered the mainstream use of these vehicles by freight forwarders. hylane’s usage-based rental model lowers these barriers by providing low-risk access to the new technology. The trucks are procured by hylane and provided to the tenants including all services necessary for operation. The tenants are only charged for the kilometres driven and pay a fixed price per kilometre, which offers users Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) certainty.

Our fleet comprises standardized vehicles ranging from rigid trucks with different superstructures (e. g., dry box, cooled box, swap body) to tractors. The triumvirate of vehicle specifications, contract term and annual mileage then results in the individual kilometre price for customers.

The following services are included in our rental model:

• Subsidy from the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport Affairs. The subsidy applies to all 122 vehicles in our fleet to date and amounts to 80 percent of the difference in costs between a hydrogen truck and a comparable diesel truck. We pass 100 percent of the funding on to our partners, which implies a considerable cost advantage.
• Provision including registration of the vehicle and application for special permits (e.g. for a possible excess length).
• Maintenance and repairs.
• Hull and liability insurance.
• Taxes.
• Tire service.
• Driver training.
• Return service.
• Access to network of hydrogen refuelling stations and discounts.

The rental rate does not include the hydrogen itself, but it is billed via hylane. The billing of refuelling processes is uncomplicated via the hylane fuel card, which is accepted at all public filling stations in Germany. The costs for the refuelled hydrogen are shown separately on the monthly invoice. As hylane, we are a direct customer of the refuelling station operators and can therefore negotiate special conditions for our customers.
